Hudson County Hoverboard Rider Struck, Killed By Car

A 40-year-old man was killed when he was struck by a car while riding a hoverboard in Bayonne, authorities said.

Matthew Anderson was on the electric device when he was hit by a car near 40th Street and Avenue C Sunday, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said.

Anderson was pronounced dead at 3:30 p.m. that day, at Jersey City Medical Center, Suarez said.

The driver, a 23-year-old man, remained at the scene, authorities said. No charges have been filed at this time and the investigation remains ongoing, Suarez said.
